A Game-Changing Development for the Canadian Wine Industry. It has been almost 31 years since Hillebrand Winery's Trius Red, a Bordeaux blend-inspired wine created by Hillebrand Winery, earned the first-ever Canadian vintage to be named the Best Red Wine in the World in 1991. In addition to establishing Trius Red as the little big red that might, the victory was a significant milestone for the Canadian wine industry, signaling that our country's wines could compete with those of the old world.
